Celebrating Earth Day in Chinatown

Concerts in Motion has been presenting socially engaging music programs in Chinatown since its founding, 16 years ago.

Today, we’re proud to partner with Chinatown BID to bring music to Pell Street on this Open Streets day.

Today’s Musicians

Mandarin Wu, voice

Mandarin Wu is a singer, dancer, actor, director, choreographer, and a musical theatre faculty at Marymount Manhattan College. She has performed off-Broadway in Pan Asian Rep's A DREAM OF RED PAVILIONS; at the Metropolitan Opera as a dancer; and in large theaters across the US performing shows such as, THE KING AND I and FOLLIES. She enjoys singing American standards and Mandarin songs, and also dabbles in Cantonese, Spanish, and French.

Jiayi He, harmonica

Jiayi He is a winner of prestigious awards in America, Europe, and the Far East. He has served on judging committees in various Asian countries, and he has appeared with numerous orchestras worldwide. Jiayi has been a soloist at Shea Stadium, Carnegie Hall, and General Assembly Hall at the United Nations. Former NYC Mayor Bloomberg attended his harmonica seminar. He played on the television show America’s Got Talent, receiving a standing ovation from the judges.
